New Year Around the Pot

A lively folk-style painting portrays a family gathered around a steaming black cooking pot and a large platter of green, crosshatched wrapped cakes, likely a festive New Year preparation. Two adults lean inward while children stand at either side, their brightly colored clothing set against a deep night sky scattered with sparks and celebratory fireworks. Simplified figures, expressive faces, and visible brushwork give the scene an intimate, handmade character, while the central pot anchors the composition as a symbol of shared work and family ritual.
