A tall, black-and-white print presents a solitary robed figure standing within a narrow architectural opening, partly obscured by hanging curtains or reeds. Stark carved highlights define the bowed head, elongated body, raised arm, and surrounding vertical forms, while broad fields of ink create an atmosphere of secrecy and solemnity. The compressed composition and uneven marks give the work the raw intensity of an expressionist print.
