A tense, angular portrait presents a dark-haired figure in a black garment beside a loosely rendered nude form and scattered red and ochre accents. Scraped, broken strokes articulate the face with restless planes of flesh, while the pale ground and unfinished contours keep the composition exposed and psychologically charged. The direct gaze and compressed arrangement evoke the raw intimacy of early twentieth-century Viennese portraiture.
