Guardian of the Earth

A weathered wooden figure stands upright on a stacked, block-like base, its elongated proportions and enlarged head giving the sculpture a solemn, watchful presence. Carved facial features, inset-looking eyes, broad hands, and carefully articulated feet retain traces of the maker’s direct, tactile work, while worn surfaces and warm brown patina reveal age and handling. The frontal pose and quiet studio presentation emphasize the figure’s enduring monumentality.
