The Eyes of Africa

The Eyes of Africa is an exploration of Africa through the eyes of two sisters, Sooraya and Nooreena Sohawon, brought together for the first time around a shared artistic project. Through their portraits of women, men and animals, they celebrate an Africa rich in its diversity, cultures, traditions and wildlife. The gaze is at the heart of the exhibition. It becomes a silent language, capable of conveying an emotion, an identity, a story and a strength that goes beyond words. The exhibition also creates a dialogue between humans and animals, two worlds which, despite their differences, share emotions, instincts, vulnerability and resilience. Although sisters and driven by the same love for detail and realism, Sooraya and Nooreena each have their own sensitivity and their own artistic world. One specialzing in acrylics and the latter in soft pastels. This exhibition is the meeting of these two perspectives, brought together to share their vision of Africa.
